Östersund’s Society for Nature Conservation is the local Östersund branch of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. Our local activities include:
- A local network for environment-friendly consumption.
- A local network for increasing awarewess of hazardous chemicals.
- ”Natursnokarna” – family activities out in the nature. We learn about nature by playing in and discovering Östersund’s surroundings.
- Mowing of meadows – traditional management of two meadows in Östersund.
The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC) is a charitable environmental organisation with the power to bring about change. We spread knowledge, chart environmental threats, propose solutions and influence politicians and authorities, both nationally and internationally. Under democratic forms, we work regionally in 24 county branches and locally in 270 community branches.
